Sometimes I dream of a tropical island and only fashion-obsessed people can apply for a passport. We don’t need hybrid cars, but foods are our fuel and as long as there are shopping malls, we are determined to survive. Language? We will do what we are already doing – inventing new fashion terminologies, gluing words together or borrowing words from another culture like Recessionista, Fruit Salad, Lust-Have or Granny-Chic.
And when Longchamp showed me their new Le Pliage Cuir bags, I pay very close attention to the word ‘Cuir’ because it sounded so familiar. I took a look in our database…
30 second later.
Long story short, Cuir means ‘leather’ in French. Why don’t they just name it leather instead? Longchamp Le Pliage Leather Bag, is there something wrong about that? Is Cuir fancier?
Okay anyways, if you’ve been following our previous post, Alexa Chung was featured in Longchamp Spring Summer Ad Campaign 2014, carrying the iconic Le Pliage bag in new fine colors. For those who are like me, wants to know what the difference is between the original Le Pliage and the Le Pliage Cuir – the ‘Cuir’ edition has been reshaped from the traditional Le Pliage tote using duo of lambskin and goatskin to make it more versatile and light weighed. The shape and vibrant colors are inspired from the original version. It comes with a shoulder strap, measuring 12,5 x 11 x 6,45. At Longchamp for $555 USD.

Hi dada, Longchamp does make some bag in France, but from experience the Le pliage Cuir is made in France, but I am not sure about the leather.
Hi. I just want to know if older version of lc cuir has no jockey logo on their metal material in the sling strap?
